40th Bomber Group Shield (see FAQs and Facts page) Why This Site Is Here
During the long and violent conflict of World War 2 in the Pacific, there was a special breed of people who did not fight like your average soldier. These men were those in the air. They were the people who flew through massive obstacles to achieve their goal. What has happened to these intrepid pilots and their brave crews who flew for hours, risking their lives to protect their country and all that they held dear? Where did these men go? We know about the heroes who flew but never returned, but what has happened to any and all of the nameless veterans who, collectively, did more to win the war than the dramatized few? What happened to these men who survived the war, only to return to lives that were forever changed by their individual war experiences? Here we hope to supply you with an answer to that and many more questions about B29s in the Pacific.

Dedicated to the brave men of the B-29. Those who went and were lucky enough to return.
